Stupid Easy Homemade Bone Broth

The short cut version to making your own gut healing protein rich bone broth.

Equipment

  • 1 Instant pot Or stove top pot

Ingredients

  • 4 lb bones 2 chicken carcasses
  • 2-3 carrots rough chop
  • 2-3 celery stalks rough chop leaves included
  • 1 large onion
  • 3-4 garlic cloves
  • 1 Tbs whole peppercorns
  • 1 Tbs kosher salt
  • 1 splash apple cider vinegar
  • 2 bay leave

Instructions

  • Fill your pot 3/4 way with bones
  • Add in all vegetables, seasonings, and ACV
  • Fill with water just over (1-2in) the height of the bones
  • Simmer in Instant Pot for 4 hours, or stove top/crock pot for 12 hours
  • Cool
  • When cool, strain and transfer into freeze proof containers.
  • As the liquid cooks, any extra fat will separate and move to the top, allowing you to remove if desired
  • Freeze to thaw and use as needed

optional ideas: whole star anise, fresh parsley or other herbs, leeks, fennel etc
